Daniel Brody

Bio

Daniel Brody was born the youngest of four in the Bronx N.Y. and raised in Miami Florida.

1976
1987

Dan's passion for business and the community began at an early age. In his early teens he not only started a boxed candy route with a friend but he also spent weekends working at a Sunday School for challenged youth.

After high school Dan moved to Israel for a year of study abroad. There he not only took in the rich beauty and culture of the land and people but he learnt biblical text and commentaries in multiple languages.

1992

Dan returned to New York for college at the prestigious Yeshiva University (Ranked among the top Universities in US News and World Report) where he earned Dean's List Honors while carrying both a dual curriculum and often 18 plus credit loads.

With a difficult academic schedule Dan still maintained an equally intense schedule of extra curricular activities including top honors in the University's famed Dramatic Society.

1994

His passion for community led Dan to take up weekend employment with a NYC based Home for mentally and physically challenged adults. "My parents have instilled in me the understanding that a good life, is a life that involves giving".

After college Dan was accepted into the Baruch CUNY MBA program as one of the youngest members of his class. While enrolled in this challenging program he maintained a full time position with Marriott International where he rose to the position of Property Controller within a few short years.

1997
1999

After earning his degree, Dan decided to try his hand at his own business. His first Café was Grandma's Cookie Jar in NYC. The retail shop quickly became the headquarters for Dan's expanding wholesale bakery which supplied Coffee Shops and Tea Cafes throughout the Tri-State area.

Dan invented the "Scoop & Bake" and "Tub-O-Dough" packaging later adopted by the Pillsbury Corp. His Cookie Dough product was carried by more than 30 specialty grocers before he successfully sold his business.

2000
2002

Dan took sometime off and then his passion for the community led him to join Hearthstone , a leading provider of research and care for individuals suffering from Alzheimer's and related cognitive impairments. Dan became the New York Director of Marketing. Working with a group of talented managers, Dan was instrumental in the rapid growth and recognition of Hearthstone during his time with the company.

Soon the entrepreneurial itch emerged and Dan started Swan Hat Co.with his brother Steven (A fantastic business mind in his own right). Swan Hat has multiple divisions within the headwear and accessory business. Not only does the brand claim major department stores as customers but the Straw hat division outfits the Teacher's Union 5th Ave Parade each year.

2004

Dan has also developed the Brody Sport line. A high-end designer sport line for boutiques and Country clubs.

Dan is passionate about Business, passionate about Community and excited for what the future will bring. Applying for Season 5 of The Apprentice is a testament to Dan's Go Get It style. Working with Donald Trump will be an incredible experience and having been selected for the process from nearly 600,000 applicants is a great start.

Dan is currently consulting for Vencor Intl. a publicly traded firm and parent company of Robeworks.com a leading provider of Hotel, Spa and Resort Robes and cotton accessories. Robeworks also has a line of popular satin styles enjoyed by several celebrities, most notably the famous robe wearing Hugh Hefner. With Dan's guidance Robe Works hopes to expand it's customer base and grow it's market share in areas like the rapidly developing Las Vegas market.

Dan is currently the COO and Director of US Operations for Grace Hats NY LLC. Grace Hats is a long standing Japanese Accessory Design / Manufacturer with offices in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Seoul. Dan joined Grace to head up the New York office and oversee North American operations. It is a large undertaking, and Dan is confidant that with the right people in place he will guide Grace Hats NY to great success here in the US."
